The Northside Radio Committee consists of 6 independent non-executive members. There are currently 6 active committee members.
Our 2NSB members are passionate about Northside Radio and bring a wide range of media, not-for-profit, legal, business and commercial skills to the committee.
The key role of the committee is to provide oversight and governance to ensure Northside Radio remains on air, providing great music and local content for our vibrant North Shore community.
In doing so, the committee oversees the strategic direction of the community radio station, with a focus on all governance issues and associated business functions (regulatory, financial, legal, audit and risk).
The committee ensures our radio programs are delivered as effectively and efficiently as possible, to make the most of funds donated by our wonderful sponsors, subscribers and members.
The Northside Broadcasting Incorporated Committee meet monthly. Officers are elected annually at the Northside Radio AGM.
Current Committee Members
Jerry Yoshida – Chair
Jerry has been with Northside Radio since 2016. He is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and High Court of Australia. Previously he was the Vice President of Power Thinking International Inc (2003-2008) and Vice President of Psycho Genomics Research Institute (2008 – 2020) both organisations were Non-Profit Community organisations involved in Cancer Research. Jerry has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Law and also attained a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and Diploma in Management. He is the author of the book “Increasing Sales Through Relationship Marketing” and has been a corporate trainer for Fortune 500 and Small to large Businesses in the field of marketing and business development. Jerry was formerly the Chair of Northside Radio board, Chair of the Programming and Training Committee and a member of the Youth, Community and Ethnic Diversity Committee. Jerry was re-elected Chair of Northside Committee in Oct 2024.\
Kennedy Potter – Treasurer
Kennedy Potter was elected to Northside Radio Committee and appointed as Treasurer in Oct, 2024.
Kennedy is a Litigation Investment Manager at Court House Capital. In this role, she assesses and manages funded cases for claimants in single-party, portfolios and group claims (class actions). Kennedy joined Court House Capital in 2021, bringing deep experience in insurance litigation from her roles at the world’s preeminent risk adviser (Marsh McLennan), leading Lloyd’s syndicate in the UK (MS Amlin) and prominent insurance litigation firm (Wotton & Kearney). Kennedy has also served as Legal Counsel in the disputes team of the General Counsel’s Office at Ernst & Young in the Oceania region. Prior to her entry into the legal sector, Kennedy worked as a marketing coordinator in an agency and in house capacity. She also was a dedicated debating coach for 8 years at her alma mater, SCEGGS Darlinghurst.
She volunteered at Northside Radio 99.3 in 2006-2008 while at school and university. Kennedy earned her Doctor of Law (JD) and Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) with a focus on Radio Journalism from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Terence Hogan – Secretary, Public Officer
Terence has been with Northside Radio for almost twenty years, for about fifteen of those years hosting his own program. In these later years he has been involved with the Programming and Training Committee and part of the team that conducts the station’s in-house training. Terence’s part of that training was in how to use your voice and microphone technique. He also had the great pleasure of initiating a course, for our younger trainees, at The Australian Film, Television and Radio School.
Terence has a background in design and construction, both commercial and residential (many years ago, now). He has also worked as a ‘Sound Tech’, for a major hire company. In terms of ‘Community Groups’ he has been a member of the Strathfield Musical Society’s Committee and was associated with them for 15 years. Fulfilling roles as Stage Manager, Set Design and Construction, and occasionally, on stage. His fondest memory, and greatest challenge, was designing and building a set for Les Miserables. Having been a licensed builder and holding a B.A. in Fine Arts, Terence hopes his breadth of experience continues to benefit Northside Broadcasting.
Harry Ledowsky – Member
Harry Ledowsky brings extensive experience in management, advertising, and broadcasting to Northside Radio. His tenure as Managing Director at 2GB and Young & Rubicam, paired with his award-winning career, showcases his leadership and marketing expertise. Harry is committed to expanding both the station’s sponsorship and listener base.
Career Highlights: • Managing Director of 2GB, a major commercial radio station in Sydney. • Managing Director of Young & Rubicam, the 3rd largest advertising agency in Sydney. • Named 2nd Most Outstanding Individual in Advertising by The Australian Financial Review. • Board member of Young & Rubicam New York, the biggest advertising agency on Madison Avenue at the time. • Nominated to the Australian Advertising Hall of Fame. • Winner of over 150 international and national advertising awards.
Creative Contributions: • Creator of the “Greatest Memories, Latest Hits” campaign that launched 2WS onto the FM band, later adopted by several U.S. stations. • Developed iconic campaigns including “Oils Ain’t Oils” for Castrol, “The Great Aussie Cossie” for Speedo, and “The Bundy Bear” for Bundaberg Rum. A 12-year presenter at Northside Radio, Harry was one of four individuals who personally funded the station’s revival from receivership, ensuring its continued success.
Phillip Rosen – Member
Phillip Rosen hosts The Friday Zone on Northside Radio every Friday morning from 9am – 12pm. During Phil’s show you can relive the best memories of your life with an eclectic selection of rare music and history you won’t hear anywhere else.
From ‘On This Day’ in Music history, to interesting musical themes, you will be entertained with fun facts about the music we all love and remember from the Team Leader of the winner’s of the inaugural Northside Radio Music Trivia Quiz. Make a date with Phil Rosen ‘MikeSide’ and enter The Friday Zone. Get carried away with the best sounds that went round when we were all a little closer to the ground.
Phillip served as Chair of Northside Radio Board from Sept 2023 – Oct 2024. He has stayed on the Committee as a member from Oct 2024.
Mark Wesley – Station Co-ordinator, Member
Mark Wesley has served as Station Coordinator at Northside Radio since January 2023. Mark contributes strategically by enhancing decision-making processes, sharing his expertise, and driving operational efficiency across the station.
In 2024, Mark made a significant impact on the station’s financial stability by increasing sponsorships and securing critical deals. As the first Station Coordinator to take an active role in sales and marketing, he has forged partnerships with advertising agencies and secured both national and international sponsors. Mark also spearheaded the introduction of a remote broadcasting system, enabling presenters to host shows from off-site locations. This innovation has brought Northside Radio up to industry standards while ensuring seamless and consistent programming.
Looking ahead to 2025, Mark plans to further grow sponsorship revenue and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders. His vision includes enhancing the value of sponsorships while expanding the listener base, with the ultimate goal of positioning Northside Radio as the leading community radio station in Sydney.
